City of Girls

Coming of age story about Vivien who leaves her hometown after dropping out of college.  She goes to New York City and lives with her bohemian Aunt Peg.  She learns of life in the city, works theater  and lives a very fast life.  She grows up, has fun and makes mistakes.  The author uses a method of storytelling in which Vivie tells her life story to young Angela who is the daughter of the only true love that Vivien has ever had.  The friendship between Frank and Vivien is something special.

There are some memorable lines in this story.  There is alot of humor.  It is light and it is not.

I recommend this book
