This novel, by Meg Wolitzer is excellent. It hits all the right notes. A strong commentary on feminism juxtaposed with wifely responsibilities leads us to understand the marriage of Joan and Joe Castleman. An aspiring writer as a young woman, Joan sacrifices for Joe, who is consumed as a literary sensation. Our story starts as the couple is in flight to Helsinki to win the prestigious literary award which is given each year. Using flashback technique, Wolitzer spins a novel that leaves one questioning loyalty, honor, love and devotion.
Thoroughly elnjoyed this book.
